Don’t be fooled by the ‘jersey’ tag. This garment is more akin to a winter jacket and indeed has served as one with aplomb on a number of chilly winter rides.
It’s Gore’s ubiquitous yet superb Windstopper material that is the key, and it features across the front of the jersey and on the arms.
In the dank chill of a six-degree midwinter ride, with only a short-sleeved base layer underneath, it kept me perfectly warm. And when the mercury dropped further, the simple addition of long sleeves underneath the Xenon was enough to maintain warmth.
The jersey as a whole is surprisingly lightweight and very soft, with a great slimline performance fit. With ample rear storage, and (admittedly rather superfluous) forearm zips for ventilation and ease of removal, all bases are covered.
A great looking and highly functional jersey-cum-jacket with the potential to see you through from October all the way to March
