Exposure Strada Mk5 Front Light

Manufacturer:

Price as reviewed:

£269.95

At £269 the fifth version of the Strada from Exposure is certainly not cheap but is well honed for the job – and the job in question is offering a ‘do it all’ road light.

In use I rarely changed between the six programs, generally opting for the full output main beam, occasionally dipping for other road users, and flashing for daylight rides.

Verdict

One hundred miles hasn't yet drained the battery so that's certainly impressive, as is the powerful beam that with two LEDs is tuned to give a broad spread and a focused hot spot for use at speed. The Strada is an awesome light for fast training and safe commuting.

Excellent performance and quality build from the Exposure Strada.I have used this light to commute and to ride down very dark country lanes. The beam of light is more spread than a conventional light and you can see both sides of the road quite clearly. The forward beam illuminates to about forty or so metres and any obstruction or potholes in the road will be clearly seen in time enough to brake. I felt comfortable enough to lick along at 20 mph although I have not done a fast descent yet with the light on full beam.
Battery life is stated as about 3 hours on full, My longest ride in the dark has been about ninety minutes and the battery was showing half full so it must be there or thereabouts. All in all very pleased with the Strada, but it is a little bit pricey.Would I recommend to a friend, the answer is most definately yes.One other thing to add, is the fact the some cars find the light very bright when on full power and kept flashing me to dip, just bear that in mind on the road.
