SealSkinz certainly seem to be leading the way in breathable waterproof clothing and have produced a very good pair of oversocks for those grim days on the bike
It’s surprising anyone has been able to get any riding in over the holiday period, with so many fallen trees and flooded roads in Surrey and Kent.
But with good intentions, we grabbed this offering from SealSkinz and headed out to give these £35 waterproof, windproof and breathable booties a go to see if they live up to expectations.
Thankfully they did and really worked well, even in some pretty grim conditions. The simple sock design is easy to pull on and fits very well around the shoe and legs, limiting any leakage.
While they look minimal, my feet remained warm and dry, and they did a decent job of keeping the worst of the cold out (with a winter sock underneath). Sweatiness was notably less of an issue compared to their less breathable neoprene rivals, too.
