We’ve racked up about 200 miles over a week with ?the Vector pedals, and it’s been a learning experience.
We have found that, depending on shoe width and preferred set-up, it’s necessary to adjust cleats to ensure they don’t rub the pod. This broadens the ?Q factor (foot width).
Once that is sorted, the fitment of the pods is crucial in relationship to the chain.
A 5mm gap is advised, but the backs of the Dura-Ace 9000 cranks are just 4mm away, so on rough roads the chain regularly clips the plug even when using the supplied spacers.
Since being properly set up, the performance has been excellent, with the data consistent and accurate. We’ll need some more time on the £1,349 system to decide whether they’re worth the outlay.
