- Efficient E-Post and headset arrangement
- Stiff front end
- Rear end is too relaxed compared with the front

The 586 arrived in 2007, but the ’09 model, in Pro Team colours, was the first time we’d swung a leg over one.
Designed to be the middle ground between the top-end race 595, and the more multi-purpose 585, Look describes the 586 as an aggressive century frame. It’s possible to feel the influences of the others in the 586, but in a more disjointed way than we would have liked. The front end and HSC 6 fork feel very solid and racey, with an extremely direct steering response, which takes a bit of getting used to and is probably a step too far for its target market.
The rear end, by contrast, is nowhere near as sharp, spot-on for a comfy ride feel, but compared to the more aggressive front, it’s miles apart and leaves it feeling a bit mismatched out on the road. All the same, we love the E-Post and headset arrangement.
