Look 795 Aerolight Proteam review

The Look 795 Aerolight Proteam has the tag-line "successful integration" and was clearly designed with all out speed in mind

Cycling Weekly Verdict

Buying an aero road bike makes sense for many — aerodynamics are an important factor whenever you are travelling at anything above 10mph; the weight penalty compared to a standard road bike is negligible and they are becoming more affordable. From a performance perspective the 795 is close to the very best aero road bikes on the market and with Look bikes being a rarity in the UK you can be confident your ride will stand out from the crowd at the cafe stop — even more so with the Proteam’s classic red, blue and yellow Mondrian colours made famous by the successful Look-supported La Vie Claire team of the 1980s. In theory the flexibility offered by the 795’s high level of adjustability is advantageous. However, in reality it is quite fiddly and takes time to master. Look provides a bike-fit upon purchasing the 795 from a UK dealer, which should reduce such difficulties. Lastly, the 795’s high price tag cannot be ignored. Together with the immediate success of its first carbon-fibre frame that was ridden to victory at the 1986 Tour de France by Greg LeMond, groundbreaking technology is very much at the forefront of this iconic French company’s proud and successful history.
