Assos’s range-topper is this six-panel, race-focused bibshort. While the name is instantly forgettable, the quality isn’t.
The cut is cleverly designed for the aesthetically-challenging contours of the male form – to be blunt, these put less pressure on the genital region, setting them apart from many of the cheaper shorts on test, some of which have a tendency to squash rather than support.
The fit is on the snug side, almost giving a feel of a compression garment.
Along with a comfortable pad and bib – and even their own washbag, detergent and chamois cream, all presented in a posh box – there’s little to dislike about these… other than the price.
