WHEN you think about it, a one-piece base layer and bib-tights makes perfect sense.
No gaps for air to enter and if the tights have a pad, you’ll be washing them every time you ride anyway – just like the base layer. Now that’s out of the way, onto the riding.
The polypropylene base layer is as good as the best individual items we’ve tested here and with so few seams, it’s very comfortable.
Attach it to tights with the same X-Lite membrane as the excellent jacket on page 38, and you’ve got a superb garment for when the temperatures plummet.
The added bonus is the lightweight feeling the lack of straps gives you.
If you’re planning to ride all winter this year, we’ve found little that beats these for unrestricted feel and weather beating performance.
