Aberystwyth Cycle Festival returns for a fifth year this May Bank Holiday weekend
The final day of the 2014 AberCycleFest features the Continental Welsh Wild West Sportive, May 25. This follows hot on the heels of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series race, and the Conquer the Cliff Urban Downhill event.
Backed by Continental Tyres, the company will be offering competitors their new ‘tyre amnesty’ where old tyres can be exchanged for a new fitted pair of Grand Sport Race tyres. Their Road to Rio roadshow will also be on site as part of an Expo, and the technical support crew, provides three Conti service vehicles and two motorcycle outriders on the course all day, to assist riders with any issues they may have.
The sportive takes place within the county boundaries of Ceredigion, based at Aberystwyth and incorporates three stunning routes through the rural countryside in this central coastal region of Wales. Distances of 28, 70 or 114 miles cater for all abilities, with three feed zones and a pasta party & goody bag for all finishers.
The 70 mile Mynach (Monk) route is featured in the May 15 edition of Cycling Weekly magazine and entries close on May 19 at midday.
Full route details and online entry can be found at www.abercyclefest.com.
