The merging together of WorldTour teams Cannondale and Garmin-Sharp would only ever end one way; green argyle kit.

The team maintained more remnants from the old American Garmin team than it did from Cannondale, with big names like Peter Sagan going elsewhere at the time of the merger.

They would have been looking for more success in the grand tours in 2015, with a slightly anti-climatic build-up to the Tour de France in 2014, which saw Talansky win the Criterium du Dauphine but fail to really make an impact on the Tour before withdrawing through injury.

In the end, 2015 was more disappointing than the year before, with the team’s best result coming from Davide Formolo’s win on stage four of the Giro d’Italia.

Previous team leaders Daniel Martin and Ryder Hesjedal have both now left the squad, for Etixx – Quick-Step and Trek Factory Racing respectively.

With new signings on the roster, the team will be looking to turn things around in 2016.
