Former British road race champion Laura Trott joined Matrix Fitness for 2015 as she begins her Rio 2016 build up in earnest. Trott shot to fame at the 2012 London Olympics where she won gold in the women’s team pursuit and women’s omnium at the tender age of 20. Trott underlined her road pedigree in 2014 when she won the british road title in the summer, outsprinting Lizzie Armitstead.

Still only 22, Trott is likely to improve on the road as she matures, but for now, her devastating turn of speed on the track hasn’t fully been put to use on the road. Nevertheless, her love of the track – she grew up racing at Welwyn track where she was spotted by British Cycling’s Talent Team – is set to continue and she is easily on course to become Britain’s most decorated female rider.
