The only Australian team in the WorldTour cleverly focus their resources on doing few things well, rather than spreading themselves out. They are good at: TTTs, Classics, and occassionally getting things together in the final 250m to get Michael Matthews a stage win.

With no TTT and no GC contender once again, it’ll all be about stage wins for Orica at the Tour de France. They’ve got a pretty well-rounded squad, but their best chances will be Matthews, Gerrans and Albasini getting into breaks – all of them can get over the hills, and win reduced sprints.

The Yates brothers, Adam and Simon, are also making a mark at the Aussie team. Fifth place for Simon at the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2015 and the Tour of Turkey overall for Adam the previous year, means there’s potential for Orica to have an actual GC prospect one day. Both of the young Brits will feature at the 2015 Tour, but have already stated they’ll be solely aiming for stage wins.
