TOUR DE FRANCE 2007: STAGESTour De France Stage 1

STAGE ONE
Compiled by Edward Pickering, Nigel Wynn

When: Sunday, July 8
Where: London-Canterbury
Length: 203km

DESCRIPTION
The race starts with a neutralised ride from Tower Bridge, all set for photogenic shots of the peloton and London in the background, to the official start in Greenwich. The route will follow the course of the London marathon in reverse as far as Woolwich, and then heads out for an unchallenging day in the Kent countryside before hitting Canterbury.
Three fourth-category climbs will give one clever rider a few days in the polka-dot jersey. It's a stage for the sprinters, though... perhaps even a British one.
CW STAGE RATING
