Track-ready bike from Moda for a shade under £1000
For riders keen to get stuck in, the Forte is the entry-level track bike from Moda, but its modern design and more than respectable wheelset make it race ready for those with competitive ambitions.
The frame is triple-butted 7005 aluminium, making it strong but lightweight, while the carbon fork gives rigidity and stiffness at the front end.
The American Classic 420 Aero track wheelset completes this bike and sets it apart from others in a similar price bracket. All three track bikes in the Moda range are furnished with this good training/racing staple. A Barelli CR-MO saddle, carbon stem and alloy handlebars, together with a Miche Advanced Pista 49t chainset finish off the bike.
The featherlight feel of the Forte has an immediate impact on the ride, largely due to the wheelset weighing just 1,585g. The Aero wheels really add to this bike, contributing to the assured handling and acceleration both in and out of the saddle.
Steering at the front is sharp and confidence inspiring, allowing you to sweep up and down the banking with ease and drop into gaps with aplomb. The frame and fork geometry feels made for the job, giving a simple but stylish ride to match the clean look of the bike.
We found the Forte comfortable, fun and easy to ride, making it a great playmate on the banking of any track.
