CW takes a look at the Le Col Ladies' jacket £234.99 during the winter clothing test
IT may have felt stiff to the touch, but on the bike you really feel nothing but toasty and warm, cocooned from the weather.
It's expensive, without a doubt, but if you ride a lot over the winter, you'll get plenty of use out of the Le Col jacket as it's water resistant on the back thanks to the Aquazero coating.
Its also well enough constructed to expect a few seasons' use and is wearable in a wide range of temperatures right down to zero with the right base layer.
My only gripe is the thumb loops: They make a snug, warm joint between glove and jacket but on longer rides, the excess fabric feels uncomfortable.
Unhooked, they bunch up a bit. In practical terms, the huge reflective back panels are awesome - no-one could say they hadn't seen you.
As I said, it's pricey for sure, but its easily one of the best, bad weather women's winter jackets out there and worth the investment.
