With two weights of Gore's Windstopper fabric on the front, arms and lower back, Sportful has certainly made an effort to maintain the sleek lines of the Fiandre jacket.

Simple elasticated cuffs and a popper fastened, drop down tail complete the external edges in what claims to be a seriously water resistant jacket.

When new, it does an excellent job - even the No-Rain coated thermal fabric on the back resists water well.

Over time, this property diminishes and your left with a highly visible, well fitting, winter weight, windproof jacket.

Verdict

It’s a good variant of the genre, and seeing as though you get extra value as a weather beater early in its life, it’s well worth consideration.
