CW test the new Cero AR30 wheelset costing £449.99

Cero wheels were a new name to us and arrived on the RQC29 bike from Trigon that we recently tested. With so many wheels on the market we thought they were just another off the shelf, cost-cutting option - how wrong we were.

It helps that they were fitted with quality Schwalbe tyres but even so the performance on the first few rides was way beyond our expectation, so we stuck them in another bike and still they excelled.

At roughly 1,400g their weight is as low as the price, the Sapim CX-Ray spokes are top notch and the rim and hub perform very well.

The combination gives a lively, sporty, communicative feel with just enough give to take the sting out of rough roads - this is what good wheels should feel like.

Verdict

At this price I'd rather buy and ride the AR30s than any other wheel I can think of.
