Hi-tech turbo Elite Realaxiom CT promises to transform training sessions into 'real' road races via your computer

Sitting just below the top of Elite's range, the Elite Realaxiom CT is a great way of transforming indoor training into a much more enjoyable process.

With a choice of virtual reality courses or simulated gradients of many famous climbs, plus the ability to load courses based on GPS routes, there is no excuse to get bored. Like the rest of the Elite range, the Real Axiom comes complete with everything to get you going, from the front wheel riser to the quick-release skewer.

Setting up the Elite Realaxiom CT is very straightforward and takes around 15 minutes. Software install is a simple affair with no unpleasant surprises or problems experienced.

The virtual reality courses are, believe it or not, enjoyable to ride. With choices varying from the pretty flat Madrid Worlds course to the many famous Alpine climbs of the Tour, there is literally something for everyone. A realistic gradient of up to 10 per cent is simulated using a magnetic resistance unit and it certainly does make steep gradients feel, well, steep.

Verdict

I’d certainly recommend the Elite Realaxiom CT to anyone serious about maintaining an uninterrupted winter training regime.
