We pit two chain lubes against each other to see which is best

Muc-Off's formula is extremely ‘runny' for a wet lube. This really helps it flow deep into the chain rollers, and also makes it useful in other areas, such as penetrating cable housings.

Providing you apply to a thoroughly degreased chain, it makes a noticeable improvement to the feel of the drivetrain, making it smoother and quieter.

However, if there's any grit about it tends to pick up a fair bit. Because it's quite ‘wet', you don't need to go mad with it, or it gets everywhere.

Verdict

Even if you're careful it's still quite messy, but gets the job done and lasts for ages.
