Women’s cycling is on the move, its growing fast and sales of women’s specific bikes have been rapidly increasing.
Though some women choose to ride unisex bikes, female specific bikes often provide a superior fit, and Fuji are a brand dedicated to creating bikes that work hard for female riders.
A shorter top tube and narrower handlebars are key alterations made to female specific bikes. This adjusted geometry is more efficient and comfortable for the majority of women, who often have longer legs, shorter torsos, and narrow shoulders than men.
The brand were the bike sponsors for the first US women’s road racing team, Fuji-Suntour, in the 1970s, and they have a long history of supporting women’s cycling.
Comprehensive and in-depth research, coupled with feedback from elite athletes has enabled the brand to create bikes that promise comfort and efficiency to women seeking anything from an entry level ride to an all-out race bike.
The Fuji Supreme range is designed with racy riders in mind. The female friendly version of the popular men’s Fuji Altamira, these bikes are designed to be ridden hard and fast, and a stiff frame makes for optimum power transfer.
The bikes within this range benefit from Fuji’s I-Beam (RIB technology) on the downtube and fork. An extra slice of carbon is included to improve strength and stiffness, for a powerful ride.
The Supreme range begins with the 2.5 model; at £1,450 the bike features a carbon frame and Shimano Tiagra groupset. The top end 1.3 model with Shimano Ultegra groupset is available for £2,300.
For those beginning their journey by bike, or choosing their first road bike, the Fuji Finest bikes are the aluminium sister of the Supreme.
Starting from £550, all bikes within this range feature a carbon fork, making the ride more comfortable by dampening the feel of uneven roads, and dropping the weight of the bike. Every Fuji Finest is finished with a Shimano groupset, ensuring quality and longevity.
The new Teammachine SLR01 is the lightest bike in the BMC line-up, with a frame weight of just 790 grams. More…
