Team Sky awarded ProTour status

Team Sky will be part of the ProTour from day one after the UCI awarded the new British squad a four-year licence.
Team Sky's licence starts next season (2010) and runs until the end of 2013.
The UCI also extended the licence of French team AG2R-La Mondiale for three years, taking them up to the end of 2012.
Skil-Shimano, the Dutch squad which rode the Tour de France this year, had already withdrawn its application for a ProTour licence. Lance Armstrong's American Team The Shack is waiting to hear whether its application has been successful.
